Alderman Billy Webb was first elected to the Council in 1997 and represents the Macedon District Electoral Area. He is a member of the Alliance Party and was elected to the office of Mayor on 23 May 2011.

As Mayor, he may sit on all Council Committees and chairs Monthly Meetings of the Council, which normally take place on the last Monday of each month. In addition, he is an ex-officio member of many Sub Committees and partnerships.

Alderman Webb is also active on a number of outside bodies in a range of capacities, such as the NI Hospice, Ulster Garden Villages Ltd, the White House Preservation Trust, Newtownabbey Community High School, Rathcoole Neighborhood Renewal Partnership, Longlands Interagency Group, Bawnmore Interagency Group and The Mill Green Youth Centre.

He is a retired Senior Civil Servant with HM Revenue & Customs. He has been married to Pat for 42 years and they have 4 sons and 9 grandchildren.
